I just returned from the 6th annual Seafood Festival at Bayview park and it was packed. This festival is a family affair and it was really busy! Any excuse to party in absolutely perfect weather is welcome and seafood is always something to celebrate.
Here are the lineups for the beer concession:
Here are the line-ups for water, lemonade & soft drinks:
I only caught of few strains of music from the band:
“cause let’s be honest, I was there for the food. I was seduced by the fish & lobster sign even though that entailed waiting for 20 minutes or so. Poor me! I had to stand under a blue sky in 76 degree temperatures with a bunch of happy people. Still, I soldiered on . . .
I was enticed by the conch fritters. These belong to the guy in front of me in line for fish & lobster. He insisted in getting his beer into the shot, making sure I got the full monty – the thrust of the event. He had the system down. He would wait in line for food while he sent girlfriend off to get beer. Now that’s teamwork!
Conch delicacies were hard to avoid though . . .
There’s something about tossed together signage that spells FRESH and the offerings didn’t disappoint.
Lots of local artisans made it out and looked like they did a brisk business.
Here’s carving expert Scotty McAlllister whose exuberant chainsaw sculptures captured the spirit of the event.

Then some gorgeous pottery from Albatross pottery from Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Pottery has always been one of my many weaknesses. Click on image to go to website.
Then there was this guy whose name I didn’t catch:
I left with the place hopping, good food, music and lots of happy locals and visitors alike.
As I made my way out, I was pleased that Key West still attracts the right type of tourist, thanks be . . .
omg omg omg…. loved the chainsaw guy, the potter and the coconut painter! I would have had a very hard time choosing which coconut I wanted and you’re lucky I wasn’t there as, you know, xmas is always coming 😉
