{"id":718,"date":"2010-12-05T14:12:03","date_gmt":"2010-12-05T14:12:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/argyle.org\/?p=718"},"modified":"2010-12-05T14:12:03","modified_gmt":"2010-12-05T14:12:03","slug":"key-west-christmas-parade-sincere-dinky","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/argyle.org\/?p=718","title":{"rendered":"Key West Christmas Parade &#8211; sincere &#038; dinky"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday the Annual Holiday parade started at Truman and White at 7pm.\u00a0 We were on Truman near the top having enjoyed a glass of punch and some tasty hors d0uvres at the annual Christmas party that Les throws for clients and friends of\u00a0 Poco Pelo Chic. Many businesses along Truman threw their doors open and served food and set up seating on the street to enable friends and passersby to watch the parade in comfort. A warm and fuzzy feeling was in the air.<\/p>\n<p>This parade was decidedly 20th century &#8211; first half! It was wonky and very accessible. You really felt like you were participating. When someone in the float looked like they were waving at you, they really were!<\/p>\n<p>Les &amp; Greg in winter white. There were around 50 entries  ending with Santa and Mrs. Claus.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/argyle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/IMGP0814.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-757\" title=\"IMGP0814\" src=\"https:\/\/argyle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/IMGP0814-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have never seen this many children in Key West. They were everywhere, paying rapt attention to the bright floats, the music, but mostly waiting for the candy. Here are some older kids handing out bags to children.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/argyle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/IMGP0818.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-748\" title=\"IMGP0818\" src=\"https:\/\/argyle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/IMGP0818-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kids loved it, taking advantage in the lull between floats to pick up candy on the street.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/argyle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/IMGP0875.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-754\" title=\"IMGP0875\" src=\"https:\/\/argyle.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/IMGP0875-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>And then this guy &#8211; sheesh . .
